We are still tallying the final dollar amount, but it looks like we will make close to $45,000! This money will help fulfill our mission of recruiting, training and electing candidates who support women's rights and opportunities.

Now it's time to get involved. Join the Caucus and help us elect pro-choice candidates in 2004!

TORCH DINNER: TORCH DINNER 2002

Torch Dinner 2002 was a huge success with almost 750 guests donating more than $40,000 to help recruit, train and elect progressive candidates in Missouri and Kansas.

2002 Honorees were:

Kathleen Sebelius (The Erika S. Fox Pillar Award); Mamie Hughes (The Community Service Award); Kim Carlos (The Torch Award); Laura Hockaday (The Excellence in Journalism Award); and Scott Burnett (The Mel Carnahan Good Guy Award).

This could not have been done without the help of countless friends. In particular, we would like to recognize the Herculean efforts by the Torch 2002 Chair, Susan Schmelzer, who gave her life over to the Caucus! And to Kathy Collison and Georgia Sanders, the silent auction co-chairs, who pulled together the beautiful silent auction that alone raised almost $13,000! A special thanks also to our distinguished MC, Claire McCaskill, whose wit and poise are an asset to any event! And to all the members of the Torch committee, underwriters, sponsors, table hosts, auction donors, and volunteers - this is your success!
