The mission of the Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus is to recruit, train and elect individuals who support public policies that advance equal rights and opportunities for women, and to promote participation by women in the political process.
The purpose of the organization is:
- To support candidates, female or male, who support public policies that advance women's rights and opportunities and who will employ women in decision-making roles in their campaigns and on their office staffs; and
- To educate women for fuller participation in the political system;
- To encourage women whose actions are consistent with the furtherance of women's rights to seek elective and appointive positions at all levels of government
- To promote laws that ensure gender equality

Position Statements
Women's Health and Welfare
GKCWPC advocates adequate support for women's healthcare, including research, education, screening and treatment. We support the right of women to control their own reproduction without governmental intrusion. We support equitable public and private health care insurance coverage for women, including family planning, birth control and prenatal care.
GKCWPC supports public policies which provide for and protect women's safety. In the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault, we support adequate funding of service delivery as well as enforcement of strong legal penalties.
Women's Employment and Financial Security
GKCWPC supports financial access and equal employment opportunity for women, equal pay for equal work and the right to work in an environment free of gender-related barriers. We support equitable borrowing and lending practices and parity in elective and appointive positions at all levels of government.
Education and Child Welfare
GKCWPC supports equal access to public educational opportunities for women. We support the availability of quality public education for all children.
GKCWPC advocates legal remedies to child abuse and neglect as well as adequate funding of "safety net" support for poverty-level parents and children.
