The Missouri Legislature placed a health insurance issue on the August 3rd primary election ballot. The language below is what will appear on the August 3rd Ballot.
Shall the Missouri Statutes be amended to: • Deny the government authority to penalize citizens for refusing to purchase private health insurance or infringe upon the right to offer or accept direct payment for lawful healthcare services? • Modify laws regarding the liquidation of certain domestic insurance companies?
Who is behind Proposition C? A huge force behind these efforts and the “model legislation” is ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council (see www.alec.org ), Americans for Prosperity and Tea Party Groups.
